Miscarriage and Infant Loss Remembrance Day Proclamation
Remembering Our Babies Website
In October of 2002, I stood in front of our city council with my husband and thanked them for proclaiming October 15, 2002 Miscarriage and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. As I looked at the beautiful formal copy of the proclamation I was awed to see how our precious angel baby has touched our entire community. Last night it hit me that she really has left a legacy and I am so proud of her.
Joylynn left the legacy of uniting municipal agencies, businesses and individuals in helping them remember babies who have been lost and helping their families to find comfort and support.
I was twelve weeks pregnant when we lost Joylynn to miscarriage. She was our first baby after eight and a half years of trying. To my amazement, though we only lost her February 25 2002, her loss has inspired a new Miscarriage and Infant Loss Peer Support and Referral - Non profit Organization, Remembering Our Babies. One of my personal momentous of Joylynn is a Precious Moments figurine entitled "You Have Touched So Many Hearts". Truly that is the legacy of Joylynn. Larry and I are So proud of her. Her legacy is only in the beginning stages.
